What Brings You Joy?

Ciao a tutti,

I’m coming clean here, you guys—I’ve been grappling with what to write. Part of me wants to address all of the incredibly horrible occurrences happening around the world right now. I don’t want to turn a deaf ear and not mention any of it, but at the same time, I don’t want to add to the angst that so many of us are feeling.

I’ve been trying to come up with some witty combination, weaving feelings of hopelessness and disbelief into the beauty I simultaneously see in the world. Honestly, that task seems insurmountable right now. I’m not giving up, just accepting that it’s a work in progress.

In grappling with it all, the interesting thing is that two words keep popping up: joy and beauty

So I’ve decided to set some of the craziness aside and focus on what brings me joy. Treating myself to beauty is at the top of the list and what a perfect time of year to have this revelation. Nature has been putting on quite the show.

I’ve taken myself on city twirls here in New York and had the wonderful opportunity to vacation in St. Maarten with dear friends. Together, those experiences sparked a broader curiosity—and inspired me to ask what, specifically, brings me joy.

I’m sharing some of the moments that brought me smiles with the desire that they do the same for you and, maybe, initiate your curiosity in discovering what brings you joy in your neck of the woods. Some of these images are also available as prints and notecards if you'd like to bring a bit of that beauty into your own space.
