I always marvel at the fact of how closely knit Italy and New York City are. So it especially delights me when representations of this fall easily at my feet, which is what happend this week when I met my friend & fellow Italophile, Allison, to check out something special going on at Grand Central.
PANORAMA: An Immersion into Italian Beauty is a breathtaking 360° panoramic video that takes you on an amazing journey through Italy’s culture, landscapes, and craftsmanship. The 'Panorama' team travelled across Italy to shoot images in more than 200 locations and 100 companies, creating an extraordinary 15-minute movie on Italian beauty. It is an immersion into over 3000 years of Italian heritage showcasing the richness of Italy's culture, nature, food, fashion and craftsmanship. I must admit, it evoked some serious emotion in me people.
The installation will be open to the public every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from now until Wednesday, July 20th. It's in Vanderbilt Hall East. If you're in the hood I highly suggest popping in and having a mini visit to Italy.
